Stama was founded in 1936. The development of the turret boring head and tool attachments in 1954 marked the beginning of the company's development into a mechanical engineering company in the toolmaking sector. Stama has since been integrated into the Chiron Group. The service for used Stama machining centers is provided by the Chiron Group in Tuttlingen.
